Rope Squirrel Bridge

Yet another beneficiary of the Johnston Oil Fund, a Ballater (RD) Limited Community Project.

Rope Squirrel Bridge across the Ballater Pass road B972 near Morven Way

A Ballater CAN project has been delivered today, 16.7.24, after planning for over a year. It was initiated when a number of dead red squirrels were observed on the road near Morven Way.

They had quite few things to address to deliver the project including : land owners` permissions,  the council roads department`s minimum height and road closure requirements,  insurance and not least finding a bespoke rope supplier.

Ballater Community Trust agreed to sponsor, and formally own the project, as it fits into one of its objectives of protecting the local environment.
